Seahawks And Delta Air Lines Renew 12status SkyMiles Program For Third Year

Fans can earn miles for every Seahawks passing yard during the 2018 NFL Season and redeem them for flights to more than 1,000 destinations around the world.

SEATTLE, Sept. 6, 2018 – Seattle Seahawks fans will continue to be rewarded for their loyalty with the renewal of Delta Air Lines' popular 12status fan engagement program for a third season. Launched during the 2016 season, 12status rewards Seahawks fans for the team's performance on the field with miles through the Delta SkyMiles program and other perks. More than 140 million miles were awarded in the first two seasons of 12status.

During the 2018 season, Seahawks fans who sign up for 12status will receive one mile for every Seahawks passing yard during regular and postseason games at home and on the road. Members will also receive Priority Boarding on all Delta flights from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport during the 2018 season beginning Sept. 4, 2018. Miles awarded through the program can be redeemed for travel across Delta's global network, which includes more than 176 peak-day departures to 60 destinations from its Seattle hub.

So far, 12status members have used their miles, combined with other miles they've earned through the SkyMiles program, to redeem more than 1.95 billion miles on more than 746,000 flights. The most frequent destination 12s have used their miles to travel to is Los Angeles, and the farthest destination was Mauritius, an Indian Ocean island nation.

"The most passionate fans in the league deserve to be recognized and rewarded, and as the Official Airline of the Seahawks we're thrilled to bring back 12status for a third season to do just that," said Tony Gonchar, Delta's Vice President – Seattle. "We've awarded more than 140 million miles over the past two seasons, giving tens of thousands of 12s the opportunity to travel through our extensive global network from Seattle, and we're excited to award millions more miles as we cheer on the Hawks this year."

"We are proud to continue our strong partnership with Delta Air Lines by delivering exceptional programs like 12status to our fans," said Amy Sprangers, Seahawks Vice President of Corporate Partnerships. "The 12s are integral to everything we do both on and off the field, so we are thrilled to be able to help boost their travel experience all for just supporting their favorite team."

12status is open to Washington State residents. Fans can sign up for or renew their 12status membership at 12status.com to begin earning miles and using their perks in Week 1 of the NFL season and can start using their miles immediately to fly to more than 1,000 destinations around the world. Existing members from previous seasons must renew their membership on the site before the first regular season game on September 9. The site also includes each member's official 12status SkyMiles membership badge, which can be downloaded and used to receive Priority Boarding on Delta flights from Sea-Tac, and allows fans to receive program updates and keep track of miles earned during the season.

Delta is Seattle's largest global airline and continued its growth with a 10 percent increase in peak-day seats at its Seattle hub for summer 2018, driven by the addition of three new domestic destinations – Indianapolis, Kansas City and Washington-Dulles – as well as more flights and larger aircraft operating between existing routes.

Delta and its partners Aeromexico, Air France-KLM, Korean Air, Virgin Atlantic and WestJet serve 16 international destinations from Seattle, including Amsterdam, Beijing, Hong Kong, London-Heathrow, Paris, Seoul-Incheon, Shanghai, Tokyo-Narita, and eight destinations in Canada and Mexico. Delta will add Seattle-Osaka service in April 2019, and Air France began direct Seattle-Paris service in March to complement Delta's existing service. In 2017, the airline added or expanded service to nine destinations, including Austin, Boston, Chicago, Eugene, Lihue, Milwaukee, Nashville, Raleigh and Redmond. Seattle is also Delta's primary gateway to Alaska with service to five destinations — Anchorage, Fairbanks, Juneau, Ketchikan and Sitka.
