RENTON, Wash. - CenturyLink, Inc. is partnering with the Seattle Seahawks and  defensive end Cliff Avril throughout the month of October to pay special recognition to the best local fans, or 12s, that are going above and beyond in the community.

Fans are encouraged to share their personal stories, or the stories of friends and family, on social media using the hashtag #12s4good for a chance to win autographed memorabilia. At least one lucky winner will be selected every Tuesday in October. For contest rules, visitSeahawks.com/centurylink.

"The 12s are hands down the best fans in the league," said Avril. "They are more than just passionate and loud on game day - they are involved in their communities. I'm proud to be working with CenturyLink on this campaign and recognizing those who are making a difference."

High schools in the Pacific Northwest can get involved as well by sharing their #12s4good stories and including the hashtag and the high school's name. At the end of October, one exemplary school will be selected and awarded a special Seahawks pep rally featuring appearances by Blitz, Sea Gals, Blue Thunder and Avril. Schools may be represented by a particular individual or group that demonstrates its commitment to the community.

Avril is also the spokesperson for a CenturyLink marketing campaign that highlights CenturyLink's fiber-enabled 1 gigabit per second (Gbps) broadband service offering in select Seattle areas.

"Cliff Avril is a key member of the Seahawks defense, and we're very excited to have him help promote our 1 Gig broadband service, as well as community service, in the greater Seattle area," said Rich Karlis, director of sponsorships for CenturyLink. "We are pleased to partner with Cliff and the Seahawks on this #12s4good campaign honoring those who are committed to community service."
