Seahawks And Boeing Announce Final Youth Organization Recipient Of Game Tickets
RENTON, Wash. – The Seattle Seahawks and Boeing announced Work Force Development Center (WFDC) as the final 2017 Legion of Youth Powered by Boeing (LOY) recipient. Members of WFDC will attend the Seahawks game vs. the Houston Texans on October 29. The group was surprised by Seahawks linebacker KJ Wright following practice today who shared the exciting news with them.
“These kids, they do a tremendous job in our community, great leaders, and we just wanted to show our appreciation to them ... They do a great job. Young kids, great leaders of the future," Wright said post-surprise, later adding, "Whenever people are doing nice things you want to just show your appreciation for them and the Seahawks were able to do that, Boeing was able to do that for them.”
Legion of Youth Powered by Boeing is a unique community program created in 2014 to provide Seahawks game tickets to community organizations that serve youth throughout the Northwest. LOY provides 100 game tickets to a group or organization each regular season home game.
Legion of Youth Powered by Boeing recognizes and rewards students who are committed to their school work, demonstrate leadership, and are active in the community. It also recognizes kids who may be facing difficult challenges and need a positive boost.
During each of the eight regular season games, 25 students receive four (4) game tickets, snacks and networking with a special message from a Seahawks legend, concession vouchers, and a Legion of Youth Powered by Boeing sweatshirt.
Earlier this season, fans submitted their suggestions for deserving organizations for the final LOY recipient. Read
