Thursday Round-Up: Twitter Reactions To Earl Thomas' Departure

Fans, teammates, and family members all reacted on Twitter to former Seahawks safety Earl Thomas’ departure from Seattle.

Good morning, 12s.

Here's a look at what's 'out there' for today – Thursday, March 14 – about your Seattle Seahawks:

Thank You, Earl Thomas

It's safe to say that all members of the Seattle sports community, especially the 12s, will miss former Seahawks safety Earl Thomas as he begins his next chapter with the Baltimore Ravens. A mix of Seahawks fans, (now former) teammates, family members, and news sources all took to Twitter to express their gratitude for the impact the six-time Pro Bowl safety has made on the city of Seattle and its sports community.

A collection of social media posts are listed below:

Thomas sent out a tweet from his personal account thanking the city of Seattle "for the love and memories that my family and I will never forget."

Thomas' wife, Nina Thomas, also sent out a tweet celebrating their time in Seattle.

Seahawks players like quarterback Russell Wilson and safety Kam Chancellor gave Thomas their best wishes for what's to come.

Even Seahawks mascot Blitz expressed his gratitude.

Seattle natives across other professional sports leagues recognized Thomas on Twitter, including Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Blake Snell and Denver Nuggets point guard Isaiah Thomas.

And of course, an array of 12s thanked the Seattle-sports legend.

Thomas was drafted in 2010 as the No. 14 overall pick, making him one of the first players drafted by head coach Pete Carroll and general manager John Schneider. The accomplished player spent nine seasons with the team and in that time, helped the Seahawks win Super Bowl XLVIII, win four NFC West titles and make the playoffs seven times.

Social Post Of The Day

Today's 'Social Post of the Day' comes from Seahawks Fields & Grounds Manager Sergio Pedroza, as he posts a photo of the outdoor practice fields outside the VMAC that he and his team have been working on in the offseason.

Take a look back at some of the best photos from safety Earl Thomas' time with the Seattle Seahawks as the 10-year veteran agrees to terms with the Baltimore Ravens.
