Drafted with the 5th selection in the 6th round  (178th overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft.

A durable three-plus-year starter with NFL size, started to turn heads during the team's seven-win run at the end of 2008. Improved statistically each season, partially because his receivers began catching the ball consistently.

RS SENIOR:
Started all 13 games as a senior, setting career highs with 3,418 passing yards, 25 touchdowns and a 96.5 quaterback rat- ing.  Threw over 300 yards four times. Completed 14 of 21 passes for 361 yards and six touchdowns vs Pittsburgh (10/25). Had a career game vs. Louisville (12/4), setting career highs with 447 yards and seven touchdowns, helping the Scarlet Knights to a 63-14 victory.

 

RS JUNIOR:

Started all 13 games played, completing 203 of 349 passes for 3,147 yards and 20 touchdowns. Threw for a season-high 343 yards while attempting a career high 52 passes at Connecticut (11/3).

 

RS SOPHOMORE:

Helped lead the Scarlet  Knights to an 11-2 record while throwing for 2,135 yards and 12 touchdowns in 13 games. Threw  a season-high three touchdown passes, helping Rutgers defeat Navy, 34-0.

 

RS FRESHMAN:

Played in eight games as a true freshman. Completed 51 of 101 passes for 683 yards and two touchdowns. Played in his first career game vs. Villanova (9/10). TRUE

 

FRESHMAN:

Redshirted as a true freshman.

 

 

 

PERSONAL:

Two-time first team All-State Team was ranked No. 1 in the state in 2002 and 2003. Ranked the nation's 48th best quarterback by The Insiders.com and the 23rd best player in New Jersey by  Rivals.com. Completed 117 of 179 passes (65 percent) for 2,159 yards and 28 touchdowns in 2002. Threw for 1,891 yards and 21 touchdowns as a senior in 2003, despite rarely playing in the second half.
