COLLEGE:
Started at Washington State since early in his freshman year. Did not allow a touchdown reception in his last two seasons. Finished college career with 201 tackles (153 solo), five tackles for loss, 11 interceptions, and 49 pass deflections in 42 games. As a senior, was selected an All-American second-team pick by the Associated Press and first-team All-Pac-10 Conference choice. Served as team captain and started every game at left cornerback. Finished the season third on the team with 74 tackles (59 solo). Also had three interceptions, deflected 13 passes, and recovered a fumble. Returned 38 punts for 402 yards (10.6 avg.).
PERSONAL:
Attended Wilson (Tacoma, Wash.) High School. Earned three varsity letters, two in basketball and track. Served as a team captain for three sports as a senior. As a junior, named the top offensive player on the team, while in basketball, he was chosen Mr. Defense. Triple jumped 47-6 to capture ninth place at the State track meet. As a senior, earned All-State first-team honors by Associated Press, the Seattle PI, and Washington Prep Report. Was a Seattle Times Red Chip honoree and named to the Western 100 (number eight DB) by the Tacoma News Tribune. Named Washington AAAA player of the Year by TNT, as well as to the paper's all-league, all-area, and all-state teams. Won the state 4-A title. Scored 30 touchdowns and rushed for more than 1,800 yards. On defense, recorded 48 tackles and eight interceptions. Majored in communications. Married to Jessica and has two daughters, Karmyn and Kimora.
The Seattle Seahawks and Washington State Dairy Council partnership was in full force this week where Marcus Trufant visited Evergreen Heights Elementary School getting the message across to students about healthy choices.
On their night off this week a few Seahawks players hosted holiday toy drives and signed autographs at Seattle area malls to help kids that are less fortunate.
Marcus Trufant along with the Trufant Family Foundation hosted the 8th annual Trufant Bowling and Billiards Classic.
