Selected with the 11th pick of the fifth round (146th overall) by the Seahawks in the 2002 Draft. Was the second defensive player chosen by Seattle in that draft (Anton Palepoi, 56th overall). Re-signed a multi-year contract with Seattle on March 16, 2006.

2007:  Started the first 14 games of the season and was inactive the final two (groin). Totaled  35 tackles, 3.5 sacks and two fumble recoveries. Sacked 49ers (9/30) QB Alex Smith on the third play of the game which forced him to leave the contest with a separated shoulder.


2006:  Started all 16 games at defensive tackle finishing with 36 tackles and 3.5 sacks. Also forced two fumbles and had a recovery. Posted 2.0 sacks for the third time of career versus Oakland (11/6), a game in which Seattle posted 9.0 team sacks, tied for third-most in club history. Started both playoff games totaling a nine tackles, including a sack at Chicago (1/14/07).


2005:  Enjoyed one of the finest seasons by a Seahawks defensive tackle collecting a career-high 8.5 sacks. Started seven of 16 games and totaled 52 combined tackles.  Posted multi-sack games at St. Louis (10/9) with 1.5 and at San Francisco (11/20) with 2.0. Also totaled 2.0 sacks in NFC Championship Game versus Carolina (1/22/06).


2004:  Played in 14 games with one start and totaled 39 tackles, 3.5 sacks, six passes defensed and a fumble recovery. Posted one sack in each of the first three games of the season at New Orleans (9/12), at Tampa Bay (9/19) and versus San Francisco (9/26). Part of a defensive unit that held the 49ers scoreless for the first time in 420 games. Started only regular-season game at Arizona for Rashad Moore (shoulder) and tied a season high with six tackles. Declared inactive (knee) two games at Minnesota (12/12) and at New York Jets (12/19). Started at defensive tackle in playoff game versus  St. Louis (1/8) and registered four tackles and a sack.


2003:  Played in 12 games totaling 16 tackles and two sacks. Was inactive four of five games in the middle of the season (San Francisco 10/12, Chicago 10/19, Pittsburgh 11/2, at Washington 11/9), but was a regular in the nickel rotation the final seven games. Registered one sack at Baltimore (11/23) and versus Arizona (12/21). Declared inactive (toe) for playoff game at Green Bay (1/4/04). 


2002:  Played in 16 games as a rookie with two starts at New York versus the Giants (9/22) and versus Minnesota (9/29). Became the first rookie defensive lineman to start a game for the Seahawks since Sam Adams in 1994. Totaled 49 tackles (34 solo) with four sacks. Named the NFL's Defensive Rookie of the Month for September after leading the club with four sacks, while adding 18 tackles. Despite starting just two games, season tackle total was third among defensive lineman. Had first-career sack versus Arizona (9/15) and started the following week against New York Giants for John Randle (knee) and Brandon Mitchell (calf) and posted another sack to go along with five solo tackles. Also started the next week versus Minnesota and collected two sacks and season-high nine tackles. Forced first-career fumble at Arizona (11/10) to stifle a scoring threat on the Seahawks' 1-yard line.


College Career


In 33 career starts, collected 170 tackles (89 solo) with 12 sacks and 33 stops for loss. Was the only member of the Aggies' defensive line to start every game his final season and posted 69 tackles, the most tackles by an Aggie lineman since former Seahawks player Adams (78 in 1993).


Personal


All-American selection by SuperPrep and Prepstar at Sterling High School (Baytown, Texas). Earned District 22-5A Defensive MVP honors after posting 102 tackles, 12 quarterback pressures, and five forced fumbles. Agricultural economics major. First name is Robert, nicknamed "Rocky."
