Signed with Seattle as a free agent on March 27, 2008. Originally signed by the N.Y. Giants as an undrafted rookie free agent on May 2, 1996. Picked up by Miami the following season and kicked for the Dolphins for 10 seasons. Traded to the New Orleans Saints on April 3, 2007, for a sixth-round draft choice.

  • Drilled 200th career field goal with a 53- yarder atTampa Bay (10/16/05).
  • Of his 74 kickoffs in 2003, 24 went for touch- backs, best in NFL and highest total by a kicker since advent of the K-Ball in 1999. Hit a career- high four field goals of 50 yards or longer.
  • Played in 16 games in 2001 and hit 19 of 21 field goals and 39 of 40 PATs for 96 points. Conversion rate of .905 was best in the NFL and marked a new Dolphins record.
  • At Denver (10/13/02) drilled a 53-yard field goal with :06 remaining for the win.The kick fol- lowed a 55-yard field goal by Denver’s Jason Elam with :45 left, the first time in NFL history that a kicker from each team had a field goal of 50 yards or more with less than a minute to play.
  • Sat out at New England (10/10/04) with a calf injury, snapping a string of 116 consecutive games played.
  • Kicked a 22-yard field goal vs. Kansas City (11/12/06) to put him over 1,000 career points, one of 39 players in NFL history to reach the milestone.

COLLEGE:

Played final two years at Syracuse (1994-95) after attending MacMurray College in Jacksonville, Ill. and Valencia Community College in Orlando, Fla, where he did not play football. In two years at Syracuse, hit 15 of 24 field goals and 52 of 53 PATs. Second-team All-Big East choice as a senior. Led Big East in scoring with 74 points. Converted 12 of 17 field goals including a long of 50, and 38-39 PATs as a senior. Majored in speech communications.

PERSONAL:

Married to Sandy, with son, Hayden Olindo, and daughter, Kayla. Attended Cooper City (Fla.) High, where he lettered in football and soccer. Kicking shoe from 1999 record-setting season and football representing record-breaking field goal are both on display at the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Has participated in several golf Celebrity Pro Tour events. In 2000, he was honored with Florida Community College Distinguished Alumni Award. Majored in speech communications.
