Signed by the Seahawks as anundrafted rookie free agent on May 2, 2007, and spent the 2007 and 2008seasons on the team’s practice squad.

 

 

COLLEGE:

 

Pac-10honorable mention selection in 2006 with 36 receptions for 466 yardsand a career-high tying seven touchdowns. Was a semi-finalist for theJohn Mackey Award (top TE). Ended Beavers career ranked fifth in careertouchdown receptions with 15 (most-ever by a Beavers tight end). Missedthe entire 2005 season with a lower left leg injury suffered in atesting exercise. Honorable mention All-Pac-10 in 2004 with 56 catchesfor 687 yards and seven scores. Led the team in receptions in five ofthe 11 games played. Second on the team in receptions, tops amongPac-10 tight ends, and co-led the team in touchdowns.

PERSONAL:

 

Was a Parade Magazine All-American at Roseburg High. First-team Long Beach Press-Telegram Best in the West list after his senior season, receiving seven of the possible 10 votes for the team – the highest total ever by a prep player from Oregon at that time. In his career, had 68 receptions for 1,019 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns. As a senior, caught 21 passes for 298 yards and four touchdowns in nine games. SuperPrep Magazine rated him the top football player in the state. The Roseburg News-Review named him to its All-Century team. First-team all-state on offense and defense. Played defensive tackle and was named the Defensive Player of the Year for the Southern Oregon Conference. Also was a standout in basketball and track. Won the 4A state discus title as a senior with a toss of 178-10, which was more than 17 feet better than the second-place competitor. An all-league performer in basketball after averaging 18 points as a senior. In January of 2002, his football jersey (No. 87) was retired by Roseburg High. Majored in forest management. Born October 15, 1983.
