A four-year letterman (1999-2002) and two-year starter at Iowa. Played in 46 games (36 starts), with 213 tackles, 23 sacks, three forced fumbles and three recoveries. Shifted from defensive end to defensive tackle as a senior and was a first-team All-Big Ten Conference pick and defensive co-captain totaling 85 tackles and 9.0 sacks. Helped defense rank fifth nationally against the run. Graduated with a degree in African-American Studies.
PERSONAL:
Named second-team all-state and first-team all-county at South Plantation High School in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Selected to play in the North-South Broward All-Star game and Dade County All-Star contest. The four-time county heavyweight wrestling champion won the state wrestling title as a senior. Posted a 23-1 record as a junior. With his wife, Kay, has started a consulting business, The Cole Group, LLC, to help high school student-athletes pursue college careers. Has a stepson, Andrez, and a daughter, Karyss.
