HOW ACQUIRED:

Joined the Seahawks March 18, 2010, via a trade with San Diego. Seattle received Whitehurst and San Diego’s 2010 second-round pick (60th overall) in exchange for Seattle’s 2010 second-round choice (40th overall) and a 2011 undisclosed draft pick.

NFL CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Orginally drafted by San Diego in the third round (81st overall) of the 2006 NFL Draft. Played for the Chargers from 2006-09.
  • Made second-career start vs. St. Louis (1/2/11), helping lead the Seahawks to a division-clinching win vs. St. Louis in the season finale on Sunday Night Football. Finished the game with an 84.5 passer rating, completing 22 of 36 passes for 192 yards and one touchdown.
  • Rushed for second-career score after taking over for Matt Hasselbeck in the third quarter of the Atlanta game (12/19/10). Also threw for 83 yards on 8 of 16 passing.
  • Made first-career NFL start vs. New York Giants (11/7/10), completing 12 of 23 passes for 113 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions.
