HOW ACQUIRED:
Signed by the Seahawks as an unrestricted free agent on July 29, 2011.

NFL CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:
• Originally drafted by Arizona in the second round (33rd overall) of the 2007 NFL Draft. Played first four seasons with the Cardinals, seeing action in 47 career games with three starts (all coming in 2010), recording 74 career stops (55 solo) and 4.0 sacks. Has played both defensive end and tackle during career.
• In 2011, started all 15 games played for Seattle posting a career-best 3.0 sacks.
• Established career high with 37 tackles (27 solo), 2.0 sacks and two forced fumbles in 2010. Played in all 16 games for the second consecutive year, and had a career game at Seattle (10/24/10), tying a career high with six tackles, 2.0 sacks and forced his first-career fumble. First NFL start came vs. San Francisco (11/29/10).

COLLEGE:
Entered the 2007 Draft following his junior season at Michigan. All-Big Ten Conference first-team choice by the league’s coaches and media as a junior. Started all 13 games at left defensive tackle for Michigan’s no. 1 ranked rush defense, allowing only 43.3 yards-per-game. The team also ranked 10th nationally allowing 268.3 yards-per-game in total offense. Recorded 25 tackles (17 solos), two sacks, six stops for loss and two pressures. Saw action in all 12 games, starting the final 10. As a sophomore, lined up at nose tackle for three games before shifting to left defensive tackle for his final seven starts. Appeared in 12 games as a reserve defensive end as a freshman.

PERSONAL:
Attended Cibola (Rio Rancho, N.M.) High School where he was a standout two-way lineman and fullback. Named Gatorade Player of the Year in New Mexico, earning All-State and All-District accolades as a junior and senior. Picked up team MVP honors each of those seasons. Recorded 200 tackles with, six sacks, four forced fumbles, two recoveries and one interception in his career. Also returned five punts for touchdowns. In addition to football, lettered three times in basketball, picking up All-District first-team and All-State second-team honors as a junior.
