  • Spent the entire preseason on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform List
  • Moved from the Active/Physically Unable to Perform List to the active roster on Sept. 3
  • Inactive for Weeks 1-4
  • Was active for the first time and started at left tackle at Minnesota (10/9) in Week 5
  • Started at left tackle and played every snap in Weeks 6-16
  • Opened the game at left tackle and split time with T Kendall Lamm and T Chirs Clark at Tennessee (1/1/17) in Week 17

  • Part of an offensive line that cleared the way for Texans running backs to rush for 216 yards and three touchdowns while not allowing Matt Schaub to be sacked at Jacksonville (9/17)
  • Helped provide protection for Schaub, enabling him to tie a career-high with four touchdown passes at Denver (9/23)
  • Helped Arian Foster rush for 152 yards and a touchdown at the New York Jets (10/8)

  • Second-Team AP All-Pro choice after blocking for 1,200-yard and 900-yard rushers and allowing 2.0 sacks (according to StatsPass, Inc.)
  • Paved the way for Ben Tate to rush for 116 yards vs. Indianapolis (9/11) and 103 yards at Miami (9/18)
  • Provided pocket protection enabling Schaub to throw for 373 yards and three touchdowns at New Orleans (9/25)
  • Helped control the line of scrimmage, clearing the way for Foster to rush for 155 yards and a touchdown vs. Pittsburgh (10/2)
  • Part of an offense that put up 518 total yards, the fourth-highest in team history, which included two 100-yard rushers and a 100-yard receiver at Tennessee (10/23)
  • Cleared holes on the offensive line enabling the Texans to rush for a franchise-record 261 yards, including two 100-yard rushers for the second time that season, vs. Cleveland (11/6)
  • Paved the way for Foster to become the first player to rush for over 100 yards on the Falcons defense in the 2011 season when he went for 111 yards on 31 carries vs. Atlanta (12/4)
  • Helped Foster go over 100 yards for the sixth time that season and over 1,000 yards rushing for the second consecutive season vs. Carolina (12/18)

2010 (Houston 12/12): 

  • Started 12 games at left tackle, clearing holes to help Foster rush for a franchise record 1,616 yards and win 2010 rushing title
  • Helped pave the way for Foster’s franchise-record 231 yards rushing vs. Indianapolis (9/12)
  • Provided pocket protection for Schaub, enabling him to throw for a then-franchise-record 497 yards and three touchdowns at Washington (9/19)
  • Opened holes for Foster to rush for 143 yards vs. Tennessee (11/28)
  • Paved the way for Foster to rush for 180 yards vs. Jacksonville (1/2) and wrap up the 2010 NFL rushing title

2009 (Houston 16/16): 

  • Started at right guard and helped Schaub set a career high with four touchdown passes at Tennessee (9/20)
  • Helped Schaub pass for his second consecutive 300-yard game vs. Jacksonville (9/27)

2008 (Houston 16/16):

  • Started all 16 games and helped clear the way for RB Steve Slaton to lead all rookie rushers with 1,282 yards
  • Helped Slaton run for his first 100-yard game when he started at right guard at Jacksonville (9/28)
  • Helped Schaub throw three touchdown passes at Jacksonville and again vs. Cincinnati (10/26)
  • Helped Slaton set a Texans rookie record with 156 rushing yards at Indianapolis (11/16)
  • Blocked for Schaub to throw for 414 yards and two touchdowns at Green Bay (12/7)
  • Started at right guard vs. Tennessee (12/14) in which he was part of the offensive line that helped Slaton run for his third consecutive 100-yard game

COLLEGE: 

  • Registered 71 knockdown blocks in his three seasons as an offensive tackle
  • Earned second-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference recognition for the second straight season and was a two-time state Offensive Lineman/End of the Year pick by the Richmond Touchdown Club
  • Recorded six tackles and blocked three kicks on special teams as a senior and also caught three passes for 64 yards (21.3 average) and one touchdown, adding three yards on a rushing attempt
  • Apparel, housing and resource management major, with a minor in consumer studies

PERSONAL: 

  • Attended Hermitage (Richmond, Va.) High School where he lettered twice as a tight end and defensive end
  • Played in the Panthers’ first three games his senior year before suffering a broken leg, but returned for the Central Region semifinal game, catching seven passes for just under 100 yards in his limited playing time, and also recorded 15 tackles along with a pair of sacks to earn second-team All-District honors
  • Lettered in basketball and track
