Hired on January 18, 2011, Todd Wash joined Seattle after four years in Tampa Bay, holding the title of defensive line coach his final three seasons. He originally joined Tampa Bay in 2007 as defensive quality control coach.

Wash re-unites with long-time friend Gus Brad ley where they played and coached together at North Dakota State and in Tampa Bay.

In his first season in Seattle, Wash aided Seahawks sack leader Chris Clemons to his second- consecutive season with a career-high tying 11.0 sacks and 20+ quarterback hits. His line was also bolstered by the re-signing of Brandon Mebane who led all NFC interior linemen (6th NFL) with 56 tackles (40 solo).

Prior to his time in Tampa Bay, Wash had two stints (2002-03, 2005-06) as an assistant coach at his alma mater, North Dakota State. While with the Bison, Wash coached the defensive line and coordinated the run defense. In between appointments at NDSU, Wash spent the 2004 season as defensive coordinator/linebackers coach at Missouri Southern State.

Wash previously worked as defensive coordinator at the University of Nebraska-Kearney (2000-01) and held the positions of defensive line coach (1996) and head coach/defensive coordinator (1997-99) at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colo. A two-time All-North Central Conference outside linebacker at North Dakota State, Wash played on two national championship teams with the Bison in 1988 and 1990. A preseason All-American and team captain in 1991, he went to camp as an undrafted free agent with the Houston Oilers in 1992.

Wash holds two degrees from NDSU, including a bachelor’s degree in physical education (1994) and a master’s in athletic administration (1996). Todd, born on July 19, 1968, and his wife, Darci, are the parents of two daughters, Alyssa and Jenae, and one son, Marcus. Darci was an All-American basketball player for NDSU and played on three national championship teams.
