Seahawks to Wear Pink to Promote Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

RENTON, Wash. – The Seattle Seahawks will recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month at their game on Sunday, October 18, to raise awareness on the importance of annual screenings, especially for women who are over the age of 40.

Game day elements will include: on-field pink ribbon stencils, pink goal post padding in both end zones, pink sideline caps for coaches and team sideline personnel and pink caps and pins for game officials. Some players will use and wear pink elements including pink cleats, wristbands, gloves, sideline cap, helmet decals, captains’ patches, sideline towels and quarterback towels.

All apparel worn at games by players and coaches and special K-balls and pink coins will auctioned off at NFL Auction (www.NFLAuction.NFL.com), with proceeds benefitting the American Cancer Society and team charities.

The Sea Gals, Blitz and Blue Thunder will also partake by wearing pink.

The local chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha will distribute 10,000 pink ribbons to fans as they enter the stadium. Representatives from the Puget Sound affiliate of Susan G. Komen chapter will have a booth in Touchdown City to share information on breast cancer and raise awareness.
