RENTON, Wash. - The Seahawks announced today that season ticket holder and U.S. military veteran Lloyd Fields will be the Seattle Seahawks representative at Radio City Music Hall to announce the team's Fourth Round Pick in the 2013 NFL Draft.
Fields is a veteran of both the Army Air Corps and United States Air Force and has been a loyal Seahawks season ticket holder since 1976. Fields joined the Army Air Corps in 1941 at the age of 20, commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant. He flew 25 missions over occupied Europe and Germany during WWII and later commanded an assortment of Air Force Squadrons and participated in secret reconnaissance missions over the Soviet Union. Fields retired from the Air Force in 1967 as a Lt. Colonel. After beginning to gradually lose his eyesight, Fields became completely blind in 2002, but continues attending Seahawks games, feeling the energy of the crowd in the stadium and listening to Steve Raible's play-by-play on the radio broadcast.
A resident of Bellevue, Fields will be accompanied in New York by his wife and family.
