Edwards originally was the third overall pick in the 2005 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns and spent four-plus seasons with the Browns until being traded to the N.Y. Jets on October 7, 2009. He spent 2009 and 2010 in New York before signing with San Francisco on August 4, 2011 and played in nine games with five starts for the 49ers before being released on December 27.
He has played in 99 games with 89 starts and totaled 341 receptions for 5,323 yards with 39 touchdowns and a long gain of 80 yards for a touchdown. Edwards was selected to the Pro Bowl after the 2007 season when he set the Browns single-season records for receiving yards (1,289) and touchdown receptions (16).Helfet was signed and released by Seattle in May, Kenney signed on May 29 as a free agent and Wiggs signed as an undrafted rookie free agent on April 28.
