RENTON, Wash. - Seahawks hosted the first meeting of the President's Fan Advisory Council on November 1 at Virginia Mason Athletic Center. The group attended Seahawks practice and met with team executives.
"Members came prepared with suggestions and participated fully in the discussion on ways to improve the Seahawks game day experience," said Seahawks president Peter McLoughlin.
One item of discussion was opening gates at 10 a.m. instead of waiting the traditional two-hours before kickoff in order to allow fans an opportunity to access their seats, watch warm-ups and enjoy the early games on the video boards. Starting this Sunday, Touchdown City and stadium gates will open at 10 a.m. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:25 p.m.
More than 2,000 fans applied for the two-year appointment announced in June to assist team executives in the evaluation and enhancement of the overall Seahawks fan experience. Members of the President's Fan Advisory Council have direct access, both online and face-to-face, with team executives in addition to an open forum to share their thoughts and ideas with those who can implement change. The council is comprised of 12 season ticket holders from varied backgrounds and cities and meet four times each year.
