Josh Gordon & Quandre Diggs Active For Seahawks At 49ers

Receiver Josh Gordon and safety Quandre Diggs will both make their Seahawks debuts in Monday night’s game against the 49ers.

SANTA CLARA, Calif.—Two recent acquisitions will make their Seahawks debuts on Monday night against the 49ers, as receiver Josh Gordon and safety Quandre Diggs are both active for a contest between the NFC West's top two teams.

Gordon, who was claimed off of waivers last week, only has three practices under his belt with the Seahawks, but the former All-Pro did enough during the week to show coaches and teammates that he is ready.

"He did really well," Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said Saturday. "He was very impressive in terms of picking stuff up, studying overtime. He fit in really well. He's a really good athlete. You can really tell that he's got a lot of potential to be a big-time player, so it was fun seeing him on the practice field. He did a nice job."

Diggs arrived in Seattle via a trade with Detroit last month, but a hamstring sustained while with the Lions kept him out of his first two games with the Seahawks. He was able to practice fully for the first time this week, however, and as Carroll put it, "put himself in a position to play this week."

"He's had three weeks of preparation and he's been in on everything," Carroll said. "He's been around with all the walk throughs and all that stuff. He studies really well. Football totally makes sense to him. It's not a mystery at all. He's ready to play. We will not be restricting him in any way."

The Seahawks had two players listed as questionable Saturday, safety Lano Hill (elbow) and guard Phil Haynes (ankle) and both are inactive. Inactive for the first time this year is receiver Jaron Brown.

For the 49ers, Pro-Bowl tight end George Kittle is inactive due to knee and ankle injuries that had him listed as doubtful on Friday. Also out is kicker Robbie Gould, who has a quadriceps injury and was listed as doubtful. The 49ers added rookie kicker Chase McLaughlin this week as a result of Gould's injury. Cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon is also out after being listed a questionable.

Here are the inactive lists for both teams:
