Game Week Begins

The Seahawks begin game-week preparation for their first preseason contest of the year today, holding a "Competition Wednesday" practice at 11 a.m. PT at Renton's Virginia Mason Athletic Center.

Tuesday's 10 a.m. practice will serve as "Turnover Thursday" with Wednesday's 10 a.m. session to be dubbed "No Repeat Friday" and include travel to Denver, Colo., where the Seahawks will meet their Super Bowl XLVIII counterpart Broncos to open exhibition play.

Pharrell, Soundgarden To Perform Prior To Week 1 Kickoff

Grammy Award-winning artists Pharrell Williams and Soundgarden will perform outside Seattle's CenturyLink Field on Thursday, Sept. 4 as part of the 2014 NFL Kickoff presented by XBOX. Their performances will take place prior to the Seahawks' regular season opener against the Green Bay Packers, which kicks off at 5:30 p.m. PT on NBC.

Walter Jones - Hall of Famer

Former Seahawks left tackle Walter Jones was inducted to the Pro Football Hall of Fame over the weekend in Canton, Ohio. You can watch his induction speech in full in the video above.

Tweet of the Day 

Today's "Tweet of the Day" comes from former Seahawks offensive tackle Michael Bowie, who was waived/injured by the team on Saturday and claimed by the Cleveland Browns. Bowie thanked for the Seahawks organization and 12th Man fans for the "best rookie year" he could ask for.
