Earl Thomas Can Play The Piano, Drums, And Saxophone
TDDaily.com caught up with Seahawks All-Pro free safety Earl Thomas at Nike's The Opening this week for a brief Q&A session. When asked to unveil something about himself that people might be surprised to learn, Thomas said he grew up playing the piano, drums, and saxophone.
"I was in band from 6th grade up until 11th grade in high school," Thomas said. "My dad actually wanted me to keep doing it because he wanted me to be well rounded. I didn’t want to, though, because by then I was already focused on ball; I was already committed to Texas. But I did it until 11th grade. Freshman year [of high school], during halftime of our games, I’d play in the band. But that was only for my freshman year."
Thomas went on to give his thoughts about the Seahawks' upcoming season.
"I’m feeling really great about the season right now," he said. "OTAs, mandatory minicamp, for me, the game has just slowed down so much for me—what I’m excited about is just getting out there and feeling it and getting into the rhythm of being around my teammates and the team everyday. That’s what I enjoy most."
