1-on-1 with Russell Okung

Posted Dec 20, 2012

He’s as gentle and nice a guy as you’d ever want to meet, unless you happen to be a defensive lineman trying to get to his quarterback. Seahawks left tackle Russell Okung was the 6th overall pick in the 2010 draft out of Oklahoma State University.

He and his line mates have worked tirelessly to become among the best in the NFL this season. Last week against the Bills they were so impressive they caught the eye of legendary Hall of Fame coach John Madden who recognized Russell and his mates with the Most Valuable Protectors award.

Our Tony Ventrella caught up with Russell after practice Wednesday and as expected he immediately credited his coach and teammates for the honor.
