Good morning, 12s.
Here's a look at what's "out there" for today - Wednesday, June 18 - about your Seattle Seahawks:
Marshawn Lynch In Attendance
After speculation that he might not show, Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch was present during day one of the team's three-day mandatory minicamp. Lynch didn't participate in Tuesday's practice and head coach Pete Carroll said he likely won't see action the rest of the week while nursing a sore ankle.
"We expected him to be here and he's here," Carroll told reporters yesterday.
Lynch was absent from the team's voluntary Organized Team Activities that concluded last week, but even with the lack of offseason work Carroll said he fully expects Lynch to be the team's "bell-cow" back in 2014.
"It takes him a long time to get his body back to where he doesn't feel the rigors of the season that’s passed," Carroll said of Lynch's workload. "In this case, it’s unique, but he’s a unique player and he has a unique role on our football team. So we have to do what we have to do to take care of him."
Kevin Williams Ready To Join "Nice Rotation"
Newly-signed six-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Kevin Williams met with the media following Tuesday's minicamp, expressing excitement to join a side with three components in place: a talented quarterback, a fun and hard-working defense, and the opportunity to win right away.
"Man, those guys have a nice rotation on defense," Williams said of watching Seattle during his time with the Minnesota Vikings. "They were having fun and you could see it. I think everyone that has watched them play lately can see how much fun they’re having offensively and defensively. At the end of the day having fun and doing things right ended up in a lot of wins and those guys getting a Super Bowl last year."
