To clear roster spots, guard Allen Barbre and rookie defensive end E.J. Wilson were released. Wilson was a fourth-round draft choice, but had been inactive of eight of the first 10 games. Barbre was signed in late September. He had been active for three games, but played only on special teams.

Robinson (6-5, 300) also was with the Seahawks during training camp in 2008, but was placed on injured reserve. He was signed off the Washington Redskins’ practice squad.
“We’ll get research here to do a couple things to get things straightened out,” Carroll said on Monday.
Gordon (6-2, 305) had been with the Tennessee Titans, but was released two weeks ago. The coaches liked what they saw from him during the preseason games, but there just wasn’t room for him on the 53-man roster.

The loss of the run-stuffing presence supplied by Bryant and Cole has coincided with the Seahawks’ problems stopping the run. After allowing an average of 70.4 rushing yards in their first five games – three of them wins; the Seahawks have allowed 140.4 in their past five games – three of them losses.
“I’m really concerned about what’s going on up front on defense,” Carroll said. “We’re fighting it out right now.”
