“The early indication is he hurt his other Achilles,” coach Pete Carroll said after the practice that was televised live by ESPN. “If it is what they think it is it’s just a real heartbreaker. He’s worked so hard to get back.”
McCoy went down during a passing play in the full-team portion of practice, and his body language provided a portent of what might have happened as he stayed down for some time.
“If it was the same Achilles, you might understand it,” Carroll said. “But we think it’s the other one. We’ll see what happens.”

“It just indicated that we’d like to have another guy competing for the spot,” Carroll said when asked about the signing of Winston. “Eric has done a lot of playing in his time. So we’ll see how that works out.”
