Tuesday Round-Up: Three more Seahawks in Pro Football Talk's Top 100

Posted Jul 16, 2013

A morning link round-up of what's "out there" about your Seattle Seahawks.

Good morning, and here's what's "out there" for today, Tuesday, July 16, about your Seattle Seahawks:

ProFootballTalk.com has unveiled players ranked No. 50-26 on their Top 100 players list as voted on by a panel of NFL media. Running back Marshawn Lynch (No. 39), quarterback Russell Wilson (No. 41) and free safety Earl Thomas (No. 49) joined the likes of wide receiver Percy Harvin (No. 53), cornerback Antoine Winfield (No. 98) and center Max Unger (No. 99). All-Pro cornerback Richard Sherman is the only Seahawk who was on NFL Network's Top 100 Players of 2013 (at No. 50)  that has yet to be unveiled on PFT's list, which kicks back up with their Top 25 on Monday, July 22.

Jayson Jenks of the Seattle Times continues the site's "15 questions in 15 days" pre-training camp series by tackling the question: How many yards will quarterback Russell Wilson pass for?

Danny O'Neil of 710Sports.com has his pre-training camp look at the team's cornerback position, which has seen some very noticeable improvements under general manager John Schneider and head coach Pete Carroll.

We touched on it briefly in yesterday's round-up, but FOXSports.com caught up with left tackle Russell Okung on his running with the bulls venture at the San Fermin festival in Spain.

ESPN.com NFC West blogger Mike Sando considers five players that could challenge Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald for the division lead in receptions and receiving yards in 2013, and Seahawks wide receiver Percy Harvin is Sando's first mention.

ESPN.com NFC North blogger Kevin Seifert breaks down the "elite-level play" against the run that new Seahawks cornerback Antoine Winfield provided for the Minnesota Vikings last season.

Seahawks All-Pro cornerback Richard Sherman is highlighted in ESPN.com's Ashley Fox's feature on the scarcity of shutdown defensive backs in the NFL.

Forbes.com has released their listing of the Top 50 Most Valuable Sports Teams in 2013, and the Seahawks come in at No. 27 - good for 18th-highest in the NFL. Thirty of the League's 32 clubs made the list, with the St. Louis Rams and Jacksonville Jaguars sitting on the outside of the Top 50.

A little reminder that quarterback Russell Wilson is in the hunt for "Best Breakthrough Athlete" at the 2013 ESPYs. Voting is open until Wednesday, July 17 at 6 p.m. PT - when the award show will air on ESPN.

And speaking of voting, make sure you cast a ballot for the Seahawks in Round 4 of the Greatest Uniform in NFL History competition at NFL.com. The Seahawks current uniforms are matched up against the current uniforms of the San Francisco 49ers in the bracket's "Elite Eight." Voting ends on Wednesday, July 17 at 6 p.m. PT.

Finally, here at Seahawks.com Digital Media Reporter Clare Farnsworth has returned from his three-week vacation and comes at us with a training camp teaser in his "Monday Metatarsal Musings."
