Tight end Kellen Davis inactive for Seahawks

Posted Feb 2, 2014

The Seahawks will go with two tight ends in their Super Bowl matchup with the Broncos, because No. 3 tight end Kellen Davis is inactive. But backup offensive line Alvin Bailey is available as a third blocker.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Coach Pete Carroll said he liked what he saw from rookie offensive lineman Alvin Bailey as a blocking third tight end in the NFC Championship game against the San Francisco 49ers. Enough so, that No. 3 tight end Kellen Davis is among the Seahawks’ inactive players for Sunday’s Super Bowl XLVIII against the Denver Broncos at MetLife Stadium.

That was the only move that was even somewhat surprising when the Seahawks submitted their list of seven inactive players:

Seahawks Inactives

WR Bryan Walters

RB Christine Michael

OL Michael Bowie

OL Caylin Hautmann

TE Kellen Davis

DE Benson Mayowa

DT Jordan Hill

Inactive the Broncos:

QB Zac Dysert

RB Ronnie Hillman

CB Quentin Jammer

OT Vinston Painter

OG Chris Kuper

TE Joel Dreessen

DT Sione Fua
