Good morning, 12th Man, and Happy Halloween.

Here's a look at what's "out there" for today, Thursday, October 31, about your Seattle Seahawks:

John Boyle of the Everett Herald says Seahawks wide receivers are ready to step up in the absence of Sidney Rice, who was placed on injured reserve yesterday with a torn ACL.

Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times says Doug Baldwin and Jermaine Kearse will be called upon for more opportunities with Sidney Rice on injured reserve. Condotta also grades out the Seahawks at the halfway point.

Todd Dybas of the Tacoma News Tribune says Ricardo Lockette, who was signed yesterday from the practice squad to the active roster, is another candidate that could emerge with Rice on the mend.

Dave Boling of the Tacoma News Tribune looks at the lack of pass protection present around the League, noting the Seahawks will have a hard time reaching their goals if the area does not improve.

Curtis Crabtree of Sports Radio 950 KJR AM has his report from Wednesday, noting the team will not make any changes to its struggling offensive line and will look for improvement from the group on hand.

Art Thiel of praises the play of linebacker Bruce Irvin, who tallied nine tackles, an interception, a sack and a forced fumble in Week 8 against the St. Louis Rams.

Terry Blount of also writes about the progress Bruce Irvin has made at linebacker and says left tackle Russell Okung (toe), who is on the team's Injured Reserve/Designated to Return list, could begin practicing this Friday.

Seattle Times columnists Jerry Brewer and Larry Stone review the Seahawks at midseason in this short video. Around the League writer Gregg Rosenthal has his weekly QB Index, and Russell Wilson comes in at No. 7.

Gil Brandt of reviews rookie classes around the NFL at the season's midway point, calling out the lack of impact Seattle's picks have had thus far.

Cornerback Richard Sherman met the impressive Kalee Buetow, a young 12th Man who knows quite a bit about the Seahawks roster.

Here at, I pass along video, news and personnel notes from head coach Pete Carroll's Wednesday press conference and answer your questions about the team's offensive line in our most recent #HawksMailbag.

And Digital Media Reporter Clare Farnsworth has his first look at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, highlights Bruce Irvin's transition from defensive end to linebacker, puts the focus on wide receiver Doug Baldwin, and says head coach Pete Carroll shares the frustration with running back Marshawn Lynch in the back's recent lack of involvement in the offense.
