Seahawks vs Green Bay Packers: Pregame Playlist

Posted Sep 3, 2014

Find out which songs Seahawks players are listening to prior to their Thursday night NFL opener against the Green Bay Packers at CenturyLink Field.

When asked to name a song that gets him going on gameday, ninth-year defensive tackle Tony McDaniel couldn't quite name this specific song's title or artist, but he was sure about the lyrics.

"You know that one song, it goes, 'I can feel it coming in the air tonight, oh Lord," the 6-foot-7, 305-pound McDaniel hummed from his locker at Seahawks headquarters this week.

Admittedly, I couldn't put a title or artist to the track either. But I recognized the familiar chorus McDaniel was referring to.

My mind immediately went to a certain scene from The Hangover, when the film's trio of Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, and Zach Galifianakis return to their Vegas hotel room to find former professional boxer Mike Tyson reciting that same chorus McDaniel did before promptly knocking Galifianakis' character - Alan - square in the face.

If you haven't already guessed it (or scrolled a bit further down the page) the song in question was Phil Collins' instant hit In The Air Tonight.

That track made up one of nine pregame song selections from your Seahawks this week, as the team readies for their regular-season opener against the Green Bay Packers on Thursday night at CenturyLink Field.

Below, check out what the team is listening to as they prepare to kick off the 2014 season:

Note: I couldn't find a quality version of Bennett's request on Spotify, so I've embedded the YouTube video of his pregame choice for you below.

And as promised each week, we'll also feature a “Bonus Track” from a member of the Seahawks Digital Media team. This week's extra comes from Digital Media Video Manager Brian Pan, the man behind the camera of the majority of those videos you consume here at, who went with Jorge Quintero's 300 Violin Orchestra.

If his selection sounds familiar that's because it probably is. I couldn't quite put my ear to it at first, but Pan notes it's often heard at Seattle Sounders FC matches and throughout the NBA Finals. Yep, that's the one.

10. Digital Media Video Manager Brian Pan: 300 Violin Orchestra - Jorge Quintero
