Renton, Wash. - The Seattle Seahawks Women's Association is hosting Football 101 and 201 workshops on Saturday, October 12 at the Virginia Mason Athletic Center (VMAC) in Renton.
These interactive workshops are designed to teach attendees the technical side of the game, including the basic rules and fundamentals of football. The workshops will feature a question and answer session with current players and coaches, classroom instruction and on-the-field drills in the VMAC indoor practice facility.
Participants will receive a Seahawks Football 101/201 t-shirt, gift bag and catered dinner. Registration is $125 and space is limited.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Gilda's Club Seattle. Gilda's Club offers broad, community-based programs of social, emotional, and educational support for cancer survivors, their loved ones and friends. Gilda's Club provides sustained support, education and resources on-site at the Seattle Clubhouse and off-site with collaborating partners. Proceeds from the Seahawks Football 101 and 201 workshops will be designated to a breast cancer educational project in the community. The event is part of the league-wide NFL campaign to raise awareness for breast cancer during the month of October.
