Seahawks headquarters hosts High School Player Development Leadership Camp

Posted Apr 30, 2014

High school students and members of the U.S. National Guard occupied VMAC for the NFL's High School Player Development Leadership Camp.

More than three-dozen high school football players and two-dozen U.S. National Guard representatives convened at Seahawks headquarters this past Saturday, April 26, for the High School Player Development (HSPD) Leadership Camp.

The students, who were nominated to attend the session by their high school coaches for demonstrating integrity and dedication on their respective teams, were able to enhance their leadership skills with a couple different activities during the day. Seahawks linebackers coach Ken Norton Jr. talked to the students about leadership before the attendees joined in competitive activities stressing teamwork with the National Guard.

After their time together at Virginia Mason Athletic Center, the group visited the Renton/Skyway Boys & Girls Club, where they prepared care packages and penned personal letters to be delivered to a local homeless shelter.

Saturday's stop at team headquarters in Renton was one of several sites the HSPD is scheduled to hit over the upcoming spring and summer months.
