Seahawks fans contribute to glassybaby's 'two million thank yous'

Purchases of the Seahawks-themed hand-blown candle holders contributed more than $45,000 to women and children in need.

Seattle-based company glassybaby, makers of the popular hand-blown, colorful candleholders that donate 10 percent of their sales to assisting people with life-threatening illnesses, achieved a milestone last month with the help of several Seahawks fans.

With purchases of the "Spirit of 12" and "Seahawks Pride" glassybaby models, 12s gave more than $45,000 to women and children in need throughout the Seattle area in the three weeks prior to Super Bowl XLVIII.

The widespread Seahawks playoff fever helped power glassybaby to more than $2 million in giving to charitable organizations as of March 31, 2014.
