Seahawks Place Okung on IR

The Seattle Seahawks placed tackle Russell Okung on injured reserve and signed guard Mike Gibson.

RENTON, Wash. - The Seattle Seahawks placed tackle Russell Okung on injured reserve and signed guard Mike Gibson, the club announced today.

This season, Okung started all 12 games at left tackle for the Seahawks. He was selected with the sixth overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft.

Gibson went to training camp with the Seahawks in 2011 before being released on September 3. He has played in 17 career games (all with Seattle). Last season, Gibson started eight games for the Seahawks (five at left guard, three a right guard).

The Seahawks also signed linebacker Keith Darbut and running back Jay Finley to the practice squad.
