RENTON, Wash. - The Seattle Seahawks announced a schedule of summer activities for young fans with the over-arching message to be active for at least 60 minutes a day.
The Seahawks will host five Gatorade Junior Training Camps in Portland, Oregon, Tri Cities, Lake Chelan, Vancouver, BC and Spokane as part of 12th MAN Tour, which features Seahawks players, members of the Sea Gals and team mascot Blitz.
The Gatorade Junior Training Camps are two hour clinics that combine basic football fundamentals that focus on self-improvement and a motivational life-skills session with a Seahawks player, coach or alumni. The Gatorade Junior Training camps are free to kids ages 7-14. Each Gatorade Junior Training Camp is limited to 200 participants.
The Seahawks All-Pro Varsity Skills Camp is designed for youth seeking more one-on-one instruction. The half-day camp is structured to teach first-rate football instruction with a focus on technique, health and wellness for athletes ages 7-14. Camps will be held June 24 and July 1 at the Seahawks headquarters, Virginia Mason Athletic Center. The registration fee is $125 and limited to 100 campers per session. All campers will receive a Seahawks dri-fit tee shirt, Blender bottle, wristband, and Subway Gift Card.
The Junior Sea Gals program provides a fun and memorable experience for young girls in the areas of dance, cheer, teamwork, physical well being and self esteem. Juniors participate in three clinics to learn a halftime routine which will be performed at the Seahawks preseason game on Saturday, August 11 at CenturyLink Field. Clinic dates are July 21, July 22 and August 10.
The Jr. Sea Gals is open to all girls, ages 7-14. Registration is limited to the first 150 registrants. All participants must attend all three clinics and the halftime performance. The program fee is $200 per child, which includes: Jr. Sea Gals t-shirt and shorts, Jr. Sea Gals poms, individual photo, Jr. Sea Gals team photo, Sea Gals photo card, halftime music to download, a memory video, and two game tickets for the August 11 Seahawks versus Titans preseason game.
All clinics will be taught by current Sea Gals assistant choreographer/director, Shannon Kingsley and Sea Gals director Sherri Thompson. The program's administrative director is former Sea Gals/assistant director Lauren Mack.
