Head coach Pete Carroll addressed the media this afternoon ahead of the team's 1:30 p.m. "Competition Wednesday" practice - on a Tuesday - prior to the club's Week 17 contest with the St. Louis Rams at CenturyLink Field.
"These guys are tough," Carroll told reporters of the 7-8 Rams. "Our division is ridiculously tough."
"We certainly don't want the same game to show up for them," Carroll said.
A win against the rival Rams would clinch the NFC West division and the NFC's No. 1 playoff seed, which would give Seattle a first-round bye and home-field advantage throughout the postseason.
"It's been a really cool year with our fans, stadium, and we want to kind of say thanks as we wrap it up," Carroll said of Sunday's regular season finale. "It's a big ball game. It's a championship ball game."
Below are a few more bits of news and notes from Carroll's Tuesday presser:
- Asked whether or not the team would need to make a roster move with ailing wide receiver
Percy Harvin(hip), Carroll said, "That may happen." Yesterday, Carroll said Harvin would not participate in practice this week.
- Left tackle
Russell Okung(toe) made it through the team's walk-through today. Carroll said Okung would be a little bit sore to start the week, but "should be ready to go" for Week 17.
K.J. Wrightis still in a walking boot after the foot surgery he underwent a couple of weeks ago, but Carroll said Wright is "on schedule, if not ahead" in his recovery.
Digital Media Reporter Clare Farnsworth and Digital Media Host Tony Ventrella will be back with more following today's practice, when offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell will be available to the media.
