Head coach Pete Carroll addressed the media this afternoon ahead of the team's 1:30 p.m. PT "Competition Wednesday" practice and preparation for the club's Week 10 road contest with the Atlanta Falcons.
Carroll said he threw around with wide receiver
"We're excited that he's strong and feeling good," said Carroll. "We'll see what he can do in the days ahead."
"We just have to do it right because we want him to finish the season with us and have this not be an issue," Carroll said. "For him to play at this level he's got to be ready to go.
"When he really feels secure, solid, and great, then we'll bust him out."
Below are some more news and notes from Carroll's Wednesday presser:
- Right tackle
Breno Giacomini(knee) and left tackle Russell Okung(toe) will return to practice this week. Carroll reiterated that it's unrealistic Giacomini will be ready for this week's game against the Falcons. Okung is eligible to return for the team's November 17 game against the Minnesota Vikings.
- As we've seen throughout this season, running back
Marshawn Lynch's practice status will be managed throughout the week. Carroll said Lynch would likely be limited on Wednesday.
- Carroll heard back from NFL officials on the pass interference call that went against free safety
Earl Thomasin last Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. "It should not have been called," Carroll said. Thomas appeared to have picked off the pass from Bucs quarterback Mike Glennon on the play.
- "There are some games you don't want to forget because they keep you going - this is one of them," Carroll on last year's postseason-ending loss to the Falcons at the Georgia Dome.
Digital Media Reporter Clare Farnsworth and Digital Media Host Tony Ventrella will be back with more following today's practice, when offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell will be available to the media.
