Percy Harvin added to 53-man roster

Posted Nov 11, 2013

The Seahawks took the next step in Percy Harvin’s long-awaited return Monday by adding the wide receiver/kickoff returner/runner to the 53-man roster.

Percy Harvin took the next step toward playing his first game for the Seahawks on Monday when he was added to the 53-man roster.

Harvin, who was acquired in a March trade with the Minnesota Vikings, had hip surgery on Aug. 1 and has been on the physically unable to perform list. Whether the wide receiver/kickoff returner/runner plays in Sunday’s game against his old team at CenturyLink Field remains to be seen. His last game action came last Nov. 4, when he was injured in the Vikings’ 30-20 loss to the Seahawks at CenturyLink Field.

To clear a roster spot for Harvin, rookie defensive lineman Michael Brooks was released. Brooks was signed off the practice squad Saturday and had one tackle in Sunday’s 33-10 victory over the Falcons in Atlanta.

Harvin practiced on a limited basis twice in the week leading up to the Oct. 28 “Monday Night Football” game against the Rams in the St. Louis. But the past two weeks, his activity has been limited to rehab work.
