On this date: Seahawks run record to 3-0 by blanking 49ers

A look at a couple of memorable moments in Seahawks history that occurred on Sept. 26

2004 – The Seahawks open the season 3-0 by shutting out the 49ers 34-0 at CenturyLink Field. The 49ers had scored in a league-record 420 consecutive games. While the defense is limiting the 49ers to 175 yards and nine first downs, Shaun Alexander runs for three touchdowns.

1993 – Linebacker Rod Stephens forces a fumble and recovers the ball in the end zone with 4½ minutes to play, icing a 19-10 victory over the Bengals in Cincinnati. Stephens finishes with eight tackles, while the defense also sacks Jay Schroeder five times and John Kasay kicks four field goals.
