On this date: Seahawks lose opener, and QB Dave Krieg

A look at a memorable moment in Seahawks’ history that occurred on Sept. 1

1991 – The Seahawks lose their season opener to the Saints in New Orleans 27-24, and QB Dave Krieg for six weeks with a broken thumb. Brian Blades catches 12 passes for 160 yards and two touchdowns. The Seahawks would go 3-3 with Jeff Kemp (3-2) and Dan McGwire (0-1) replacing Krieg, in what would be his 12th and final season with the team.
