A look at some memorable moments in Seahawks history that occurred on Oct. 14

2012: Russell Wilson, in his sixth NFL start, throws two touchdown passes in the final 7½ minutes to lift the Seahawks to a 24-23 upset of Tom Brady and the New England Patriots at CenturyLink Field. Wilson’s 46-yard TD pass to Sidney Rice with 1:18 remaining proves to be the game-winner. Wilson is 16 of 27 for 293 yards and a 133.7 passing rating in outplaying Brady (36 of 58 for 395 yards with two TDs and two interceptions for a 79.3 rating). Bobby Wagner has 14 tackles to lead the defense, while Earl Thomas and Richard Sherman have the interceptions off Brady.

1979: The Chargers jump to a 14-3 lead and hold on for a 20-10 victory over the Seahawks in San Diego as Dan Fouts throws three touchdown passes. Sherman Smith has 142 combined yards – 78 rushing on 13 carries and 64 receiving on seven receptions – and the Seahawks’ only touchdown.

1984: The Seahawks defeat the Buffalo Bills 31-28 at the Kingdome to start what will become an eight-game winning streak en route to a 12-4 season. A 51-yard touchdown pass from Dave Krieg to Steve Largent with 6:53 left to play proves to be the game-winning score. It is Krieg’s third TD pass, while Largent catches five passes for 106 yards and two TDs.

1990: Jay Schroeder passes for three touchdowns as the Raiders jump to a 21-0 lead in handing the Seahawks 24-17 loss in Los Angeles. Dave Krieg throws touchdown passes to Paul Skansi and Tommy Kane for the Seahawks.

2001: The Seahawks storm to a 24-7 lead in the second quarter behind two touchdowns runs from Shaun Alexander and a 55-yard interception return for a score by Reggie Tongue in a 34-21 victory over the Denver Broncos at Husky Stadium. Alexander finishes with 142 yards on 33 carries, while the defense intercepts Brian Griese three times.

2002: The 49ers defeat the Seahawks 28-21 as Terrell Owens scores on a 37-yard pass from Jeff Garcia with 7½ minutes to play and then pulls a Sharpie from his sock to autograph the football and hand it to a fan in the stands at Seahawks Stadium (now CenturyLink Field) on “Monday Night Football.” It was Owens’ second TD catch of the game.

2007: The Saints jump to a 28-7 lead in handing the Seahawks a 28-17 loss in Seattle. Matt Hasselbeck passes for 362 yards and two touchdowns and Bobby Engram catches nine passes for 120 yards for the Seahawks.
