A look at some memorable moments in Seahawks history that occurred on Jan. 20

2010: John Schneider is named general manager. Schneider had worked for the Seahawks in 2000. After making more than more than 550 roster moves in his first 2½ years with the club, Schneider and coach Pete Carroll had a team that went 11-5 last season and won the franchise’s first road playoff game since 1983; and captured the NFC Championship this season after going 13-3. Schneider was given the game ball by Carroll after Sunday’s victory over the 49ers in the conference title game.

1976: Lloyd Nordstrom, spokesman for the majority owners of the team, dies of a heart attack while vacationing in Mexico.

2000: Gil Haskell is named offensive coordinator on Mike Holmgren’s staff. Haskell replaces Mike Sherman, who leaves after one season to become head coach of the Packers.
