1998: Joey Galloway catches 81- and 74-yard touchdown passes from John Friesz as the Seahawks outlast the Chargers 27-20 in San Diego. Galloway also has a 74-yard punt return and Steve Broussard adds a 78-yard kickoff return as the Seahawks snap a three-game losing streak.
1987: The Seahawks beat the Raiders 35-13 in the first game following the NFL players’ strike, as Curt Warner runs for 112 yards and two touchdowns and Dave Krieg throws two TD passes to Ray Butler. It is the Seahawks’ first victory over the Raiders in Los Angeles since 1983. Fredd Young paces the defensive effort by returning an interception 50 yards for a score and Kenny Easley interceptions two passes.
1981: Steve Largent scores on 10-yard run as well catching a 27-yard touchdown pass from Jim Zorn as the Seahawks beat the Jets 19-3 at Shea Stadium. The victory snaps a five-game losing streak during what will be Jack Patera’s final full season as coach. Keith Simpson and John Harris intercept passes as the Seahawks hold the Jets to 219 yards.
1992: Terry Wooden turns in a 13-tackle performance, but the offense generates only 186 yards as the Seahawks fall to the Giants 23-10 at Giants Stadium. It is the Seahawks’ fifth loss in what will become an eight-game losing streak.
