On this date: Golden Tate, Matt Hasselbeck strut their stuff

Posted Sep 24, 2013

A look at a couple of memorable moments in Seahawks history that occurred on Sept. 24

2012 – Golden Tate’s leaping, wrestle-the-ball-from-the-defender catch in the north end zone at CenturyLink Field on the final play of the game gives the Seahawks a wild 14-12 victory over the Green Bay Packers on “Monday Night Football.” Tate also catches a 41-yard TD pass from Russell Wilson, while the defense sacks Packers QB Aaron Rodgers eight times – including four by Leo end Chris Clemons.

2006 – Matt Hasselbeck ties the franchise record by throwing five touchdown passes in a wild game at CenturyLink Field that sees the Seahawks storm to a 35-3 halftime lead and hang on for 42-30 victory over the New York Giants. The five TD passes are included in Hasselbeck’s 24-of-33, 227-yard passing performance, with the scoring passes going to Darrell Jackson (two), Bobby Engram, Nate Burleson and tight end Will Heller.
