1992: Dave Brown becomes the third player inducted into the team’s Ring of Honor. Brown, a first-round draft choice by the Steelers in 1975, came to the Seahawks in the 1976 veteran allocation draft. After starting at free safety in the team’s inaugural season, and leading the club in tackles, Brown moved to right cornerback in 1977 and remained the starter there through 1986. He became the franchise’s all-time leader in interceptions (50), return yards (643) and interception returns for touchdowns (five). Brown, who died of a heart attack in 2006, also ranks among the Top 10 in games played (159, ninth) and started (159, sixth); fumble recoveries (11, tied for fourth); and tackles (684, seventh). He also coached the team’s defensive backs from 1992-98.
