On this date: Cortez Kennedy joins Ring of Honor

A look at some memorable moments in Seahawks history that occurred on Sept. 17

1995 – Dennis Erickson gets his first win as coach of the Seahawks, 24-21 over the Bengals at the Kingdome. Rick Mirer passes for two touchdowns, while completing 21 of 30 passes, and Chris Warren adds a third TD as part of his 24-carry, 109-yard game.

2006 – Defensive tackle Cortez Kennedy is inducted into the team’s Ring of Honor during a 21-10 win over the Cardinals. Kennedy, who was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame last summer, is the 10th member of the Seahawks’ Ring of Honor – joining Steve Largent, Jim Zorn, Dave Brown, Pete Gross, Curt Warner, Jacob Green, Kenny Easley, Dave Krieg and Chuck Knox.
