On this date: Cortez Kennedy enters Pro Football Hall of Fame

A look at some memorable moments in Seahawks history that occurred on Aug. 4.

2012:Cortez Kennedy, the most decorated defensive player in franchise history, is inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio. Kennedy, the third pick overall in the 1990 NFL Draft, played his entire 11-season career with the Seahawks. A dominating defensive tackle, he was voted to the Pro Bowl eight times, named NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 1992 and also was a member of the NFL’s All-Decade team for the 1990s. Tez was added to the Seahawks’ Ring of Honor in 2006 and had his No. 96 retired in 2012.

1990:The Seahawks play their first international game, dropping a 10-7 preseason decision to the Denver Broncos in an American Bowl game in Tokyo. The game is played on Sunday morning in Japan so it can be telecast on Saturday night in Seattle.

2008:The first wave of employees move into Virginia Mason Athletic Center, the team’s new headquarters on the shores of Lake Washington in Renton.
