NFL.com’s ‘Bracketology’ includes Russell Wilson

Posted Mar 18, 2014

NFL.com is asking fans to determine the greatest NFL quarterback of all-time. The voting in the bracket-style competition starts Thursday and includes Russell Wilson versus Peyton Manning in the opening round.

March Madness is coming to NFL.com, and with an NFL twist.

Starting Thursday, fans will be able to determine the greatest NFL quarterback of all-time in the website’s third-annual edition of “Bracketology.” The difference between the third edition and the previous two is that this one involves quarterbacks and No. 3 is involved – and that would be the Seahawks’ Russell Wilson.

Wilson, who led the Seahawks to the first Super Bowl championship in franchise history in his second season, is matched against the same QB he bested in Super Bowl XLVIII – Peyton Manning of the Denver Broncos.

Manning is the No. 2 seed and Wilson the No. 7 seed in the “Right Now” bracket.

In the “Generation X” bracket, Warren Moon is the No. 5 seed faces Jim Kelly, the Buffalo Bill’s former QB and No. 4 seed, in the opening round. Moon played two seasons in his Hall of Fame career with the Seahawks (1997-98) and now is the analyst for radio broadcasts of the team’s games.

Voting in the opening round will launch Thursday at NFL.com/bracketology. The second round will begin March 25; the third round March 28; the fourth round April 1; and the fifth round April 4.

The first two “Bracketology” exercises allowed fans to vote on the great team of all-time (1976 Oakland Raiders) and the greatest play of all-time (DeSean Jackson’s walk-off punt return for a touchdown against the New York Giants in 2010).
