The Seahawks made three roster moves on Thursday, adding wide receiver Morrell Presley and waiving offensive lineman Jared Smith and tight end Chase Dixon.

Morrell Presley has run a comeback route for the Seahawks, while former seventh-round draft choice Jared Smith has been waived injured.

The club announced the moves on Thursday, when the defending Super Bowl champions opened training camp with the players taking physicals and attending meetings. The first practice will be held on Friday morning at Virginia Mason Athletic Center.

The 6-foot-4, 225-pound Presley participated in the team’s rookie minicamp as a tight end on a tryout basis, but the team will look at him as a wide receiver during training camp. Presley played at California (Pa.) College in 2012, when he caught six passes, after transferring from UCLA, where he caught 11 passes in two seasons.

Smith, an offensive lineman, was selected in the 2013 NFL Draft but spent his rookie season on the practice squad and then injured reserve after injuring his leg in practice.

Rookie tight end Chase Dixon also was released, leaving the team with two openings on its 90-man roster after wide receiver Sidney Rice announced his retirement from the NFL on Wednesday.
