Seahawks defense featured on latest cover of Sports Illustrated for efforts in Super Bowl XLVIII

Defensive end Michael Bennett and defensive tackle Brandon Mebane appear on the cover of this week's Sports Illustrated, on newsstands today.

Bennett and Mebane were just two pieces of the dynamic puzzle that was the Seahawks' dominating defensive effort on display this past Sunday against the Denver Broncos during Super Bowl XLVIII at New Jersey's MetLife Stadium.

The Seahawks held League MVP Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos highest scoring offense in NFL history to just eight points while putting up 43 of their own. The Broncos were shutout in the first half for the first time all season, held to just 27 yards on the ground, and committed four turnovers. Linebacker Malcolm Smith earned Super Bowl MVP honors, recording a pick-six and recovering a Demaryius Thomas fumble that was forced by cornerback Byron Maxwell. Strong safety Kam Chancellor added another interception of Manning and defensive end Chris Clemons' fourth-quarter sack produced a fumble that was recovered by defensive tackle Clinton McDonald.

The city's Super Bowl celebration culminates today with a championship parade through downtown Seattle featuring players, coaches, staff and the franchise's first Lombardi Trophy. You can live stream all the action right here.
