Look who’s coming to training camp: Practice 8

A closer look at three of the 12th Man fans in the capacity crowd of 2,500-plus that turned out on Thursday morning for the eighth practice at Seahawks Training Camp presented by Bing.


After a light practice on Friday, Saturday saw thousands of fans filing into the Virginia Mason Athletic Center to watch the Seahawks take part in a “mock game.” Fans offered opinions on their favorite moments, as well Seahawk players from the past and present, including new Hall of Famer Walter Jones.


Wayne Bosshart

Age: 56

From: Renton

Accompanied by: His wife Linda

Favorite all-time Seahawk: “Steve Largent because of his class and dedication. Incredible player”

Favorite current Seahawk:Russell Wilson because of those same attributes”

Favorite moment in franchise history, other than winning Super Bowl XLVIII in February: “The new stadium being built. The Kingdome was fun, but it started dating itself. There just wasn’t enough room.”

What he remembers about Walter Jones, who will be enshrined in the Hall of Fame on Saturday:“He was mean, like Mean Joe Greene.”


Nicole Short

Age: 29

From: Kennewick

Accompanied by: Her daughter Maddie (age 4) and other family members

Favorite all-time Seahawk: “I really like Russell Wilson. He’s a great quarterback. It feels like he brings a family vibe. He takes care of all the players, like the support system for the team. He’s just an awesome all-around guy.”

Favorite moment in franchise history, other than winning Super Bowl XLVIII in February: “When the Beast ran in the playoff game against the Saints. I was in Hawaii, we were watching on TV, jumping up and down in the condo. It was wild.”

What she remembers about Walter Jones, who will be enshrined in the Hall of Fame on Saturday:“He was such a great leader with a great heart. He played with everything he had.”

Favorite all-time Seahawk:Marshawn Lynch

Favorite moment in franchise history, other than winning Super Bowl XLVIII in February: “My brother and I got to see that game against the Cardinals when they just destroyed them (referencing the Seahawks’ 58-0 victory over Arizona on December 9, 2012.)”

What he remembers about Walter Jones, who will be enshrined in the Hall of Fame on Saturday: “I was a little kid, I just remember him being big and dominant.” While Carson may not remember much, his friend Anthony said Walter Jones is his favorite Seahawk of all-time.
